Frequently Asked Questions

I live in Ridgway, how much does a library card cost?

Ridgway Public Library

It’s FREE! Just come in and fill out a quick form and you’re all set. If you live outside of Ridgway and have a card from your home Library with a blue Access PA sticker on it, you can use it at our library for free as well.

I heard the library has DVD’s, how much does it cost to rent them?

You can check out two movies per family for three days. We also offer Xbox, PS2, GameCube games, and CDs.  Beginning September 1, 2007 there will be a fee for the rental of DVD’s and VHS movies.  Each movie will cost 50¢ for three days.

My books are due but I’m not finished, what do I do?

Call us, in most cases we can renew a book over the phone, if you have a book that other people are waiting for and only need a few more days arrangements can be made.  Books on hold can not be renewed.

I can’t remember what books I have checked out, what do I do?

You can now access your information from our Card Catalog, just click the log in button, enter your patron number (on your library card) and your first name. After you log in you can see what’s checked out to you and if you have any holds or fines.

I heard the library is a  wifi hotspot, what does that mean?

It means we offer free wireless internet access, bring your laptop into the library and give it a try!
